Enroute to Dullstroom, hunting for a Bantings friendly fast food chain. Very limited choices these days, get a little tired of biltong and droewors after 5 months or so. Viola, Nando’s sign, peeled off the highway promptly. Nando’s, freshly grilled, doused with Peri peri, is as close as you are going to get to a Bantings friendly meal as you are likely to get. Fortunately, there are options which exclude any carbs, being a little naughty, those sticky chicken wings were to tempting to ignore. Placed the order, told it would take 10minutes. No problem time to track down the good coffee I could smell a mile away. Coffee in hand, back 10minutes later, not quite ready, no problem, sipped on the coffee and then our number was up for collection. Found the staff friendly, well dressed, neat. Furniture was clean and clear of any papers etc. Not quite sure that I would eat off the floor sort of thing, but close enough. Plenty of seating if you have the time, great view of the wildlife in the game camp there as well. On the road again, missus broke the chicken into pieces, bite size chunks. Was not to dry, but did think the 1/2 chicken was more like a spring chicken size, but it quelled the raging hunger pangs for awhile. Until next time . . . .
